Orientations are informal meetings which provide the opportunity for an experienced member of the TimeBank to walk new members through how the TimeBank works, what the policies and procedures are, and where possible, give a demonstration of Community Weaver, the online database. Attending an orientation session is part of the Hamilton TimeBank membership process.
We have several TimeBank members who have offered to run orientations for new members at their home, a local café or a community house. As our membership grows we hope to be able to offer orientations in a wider range of areas, however, at present orientation members are located in Flagstaff, Chartwell, Knighton, Hamilton East, Hillcrest, Melville and Te Awamutu.
Once you have signed up online, please email the co-ordiantor, Ruth, and let her know which session you would like to attend. She will then give you the address details and send you a copy of the membership application form. Copies of the membership application form will also be available at the orientation.
When you come to your orientation session please bring 2 forms of identification – photo (driver’s license, or passport) and address (i.e. a piece of addressed mail). You will also need the names and contact details of two referees. The membership form also asks for emergency contact information, but you can email that in at a later date if you wish.
During January and February 2013 orientations will be run as demand requires on:
v Mondays in Melville with Pam (10am)
v Tuesdays in Flagstaff with Judy (10am or 2pm)
v Thursdays in Knighton with Jane (10am or 2pm)
v By appointment in Central City with Ruth (6pm)
v By appointment in Te Awamutu with June
Please email Ruth and let her know which session you would like to attend, hamtimebank@gmail.com.
