Community Garden receives an Award

The Hamilton East Community Garden at Waimerie Community House has been a Permaculture Trust Project since establishing it in 2001. It has been a combined effort with our garden facilitator, the Community House & Marlborough House. The majority of dedicated volunteers come from the mental health sector including weekly visitors from Henry Bennett Centre.
It has proved to be a successful project & a beneficial activity for all those involved.
It is great to get some recognition from Volunteering Waikato, winning the Volunteer Team Excellence Award 2005 in the Conservation Category. Well done everyone.
