Building an Earth Oven

This successful workshop was well attended with a demand for 3 more to be held next year due to its popularity & a waiting list of keen participants. It was faciltiated by Paul Peterson from Raglan who is well experienced in earth building & energy conservation. The venue was the Hamilton East community garden in Wellington Street where the oven is now installed & available for public use. We have yet to make up a sign on directions for use, that will come. We not only got our hands & feet dirty by being involved in the mixing & making of the adobe bricks but we also gained a lot of knowledge & know how along with other ways to use the adobe mix in your garden such as garden surrounds & sculptered boulders.
If you are interested in attending a earth building workshop which is organised by the Permaculture Trust, contact us to go on the waiting list.
