The Hamilton Permaculture Trust was a community run trust operating in Hamilton between 1999 and 2015. It involved hundreds of people who were interested in more sustainable living, work which is now carried out by a number of other agencies.

This web site serves as a record of the work of the Trust and to encourage you to make the small or big changes needed to make our world a better place.

We encourage those with an interest in permaculture to contact the Waikato Environment Centre for information on a wide range of courses and activities on both permaculture and sustainable living.

Their details are:
188-200 Commerce Street, Frankton, Hamilton

Phone: 07 839 4452

The flagship project of the Hamilton Permaculture Trust was the establishment of the Sustainable Backyard Garden at Hamilton Gardens, an internationally recognised demonstration of urban permaculture featuring fruit trees, chicken tractor, solar power, bees and aquaculture.  Visit the Sustainable Backyard or take the virtual tour to learn more.
